Christmas Activity One Term 4 2019

This is my wreath that I did for my first activity. The easy thing was to do the colour because it didn't take very long and because it makes it stand out. The hard thing was to position the shapes because I had to try and get them into the right position. The fun thing was to colour because I did not have to really do very much. The not very fun thing is to put the shapes it the right place and then I had to go back and forth.

Camp Fire

For the camp fire I lighted tree sparks for the fire and not very many got one spark but if they got more turns they would of gotten a spark. For the fire we used flint and steal and it works really well but we tried to lite a fire but it was to windy to lite it but we tried to do it. The hard thing was to try and build what a fire will look like if we were outdoors because it had fallen down once and then we had to put it back up so we can continue building it. The easy thing was to lite the flint and steal to make a spark and I got three sparks from when I tried it. The fun thing about it was to see how the rest of my Troop went to try and lite the flint and steal. The not so fun thing was to try and build the the camp fire.

My team had got all the letters from the orienteering treasure hunt but when we wrote down the question we had to go inside and then we had to figure out the word. This is the question, What do Bears call a person in a sleeping bag. The word was burrito because a burrito is round with food in it, and a sleeping bag is round with a person in it. The hard thing was to find all the words because they were in some pretty tricky. The easy thing was to write all the clues because they didn't take very long to do but it did take us a little bit of time to get all the words because we had to go out of bounds to find some of the words.

Fabulous Finish Week 7 Term 4 2019

This is my Fabulous Finish for this term. I did a basketball because Castle likes basketball, I also did his silver bullet shoes that he calls and I did a running track because he likes to run around the track. The easy thing for the Fabulous Finish was to write the words because it doesn't take long to do. The hard thing was to colour because it took a bit to do but at least I got it finished in time. the fun thing was to draw all the pictures and to colour them. The not so fun thing was to sharpie everything because it does take long but not that long.

Shelter
It is important to remember the following when making a bush shelter.

1. Build away from creeks and rivers.
2. Build on dry,flat surface.
3. Your shelter needs to protect you from the wind and rain.

When is the S.T.O.P acronym for survival

It is important to remember what S.T.O.P means

1. The S is S.T.O.P means to stop if you are lost.
2. The T in S.T.O.P means to think about what you are doing.
3. The O in S.T.O.P means to observe your area.
4. The P in S.T.O.P means think of what your plan is going to be.

Fire

It is important to remember the following when making a fire.

1. Make sure you build your fire under shelter so it doesn't go out by rain or wind.
2. Make fire with flint and steal or by rabbeting sticks to make your fire.
3. When it comes to day you want to put your fire out with water.
4. Must use dry wood.

Signalling for help.

It is important to remember the following thinks.

1. Get up high so people can see you and rescue you.
2. Lite a fire so people can see the smoke so you can get rescued.
3. go to an open space on a high up place so people can see you

Basic first aid

It is important to remember this.

1. If you have a big cut get some bands that you packed and put it around your cut and put it on.
2. If someone is not breathing you do CPR.
3. If someone is choking pat them on the back.

Finding fresh water.
It is important to remember this.

1. Try and find a river to get some water from.
2. Create a rain catcher to catch the water.
3. Look for rain clouds and head to them.

Tent Reflection 2019

For this survival we made tents! The easy thing was to put the pegs because it doesn't take long to do. The hard thing was to put the poles in the threw the holes because we had to be really careful so we don't break them.

Whetu Survivor

1. The best spot to build a shelter is in the tree area were all the tree’s will cover it and it also the bushes will go around it so it is hard for bugs and Mosquito's to get in.
2. The shelter needs to stop rain from getting in and a wild fire and wild animals.
3. You can use a Tarpaulin and sticks to make a shelter.
4. The pros of sleeping in a bush is that you can get more active and spending more with your family some of the cons are that you can get lots of mosi bites and you can get lost.

This is my Whetu survivor, I done Native Tree Research about a native NZ tree the Pōhutukawa. I enjoyed doing the text and designing the writing and here is a link to make your own text and it is called Cool Text. The easy thing was to do the words because all I had to do was to find the text the I want to use for my words. The easy thing was to have a look at the website to have a look at what information. The fun thing was adding everything on to my google drawing because it doesn't take much to do.

This is my Overhand knot that I did with Brock we connected our ropes together and that is how we did it. I give it a 2/5 because it was a little bit hard.

Chapter Chat Week 3 Term 4

This is my Chapter chat for this week I did A Way With Words. I did a poem. The easy thing was doing the colour on the words. The hard thing was writing the words because I had to think of all the words.

The Butterfly Knot Blog Post One

This is the my Butterfly knot. It took me a couple times to master it because I couldn't find out how to do the ending. it can fix a loop on a bight and isolate a worn section of rope. I give it 2/5 because it took me a couple times.

This is my Chapter Chat for this week. I did shoes and I did add a lot of green and red because it makes it stand out and it looks really cool.

Calendar Art 2019

This is my Calendar Art from last term and I did a bit like my hair going upwards and I did other patterns around the outside like squares and with little squares inside of it, I also did triangles with little ones in it and I did circles with some swivel lines threw it. The easy thing was colouring it in and the hard thing was drawing it because it took me a wile to get all my ideas. The thing that I liked about it was doing the sharping because I didn't take long.

I did the Defenders flag, I did lots of lightning bolts because they run like a flash of lightning, I did shields because they are called the defenders and they could defend there title if they did have one so far.

Reuben B's Birthday Party

I went to Reuben's birthday on Saturday and I had a sleep over at his house. We did a water balloon fight and we did a Nerf war with Willis, Lucian, Brock, Kyrahn, Reuben, Rylan and me, we also played Roblox and on Roblox we played blox hunt, in blox hunt you can form into things like a lamp, books, chairs, and other kinds of things. We also played more games on Roblox like Sky wars, in Sky Wars it is like Minecraft because you can build things and you can build shelters.

The easy thing was colouring it in because there is not very small places to colour in.
The hard thing was to draw and sharpie because we had to draw and not trace.

The meaning of precipice is the face of a rock or mountain that is very steep.

A dangerous mountain or rock face that could land on and makes harm or failure.

May be to push off and land on many small platforms that can make harm or failure.

A steep precipice forms a natural wall between it and the rest of the island.

How to play chess.

Chess is a game of
thinking and strategies.

In chess there are 6 different
statchue's.

Chess is a two player strategy game
thought to have originated in
India many centuries ago to win a
game, you must put the other player
in ‘cheek mate’ by moving your
pieces so there king would get
captured. Although it has set to
easily comprehended rules,
it takes strategy in order to defeat
a skilled opponent. After learning
the basic rules and playing practice
games, you’ll be able to challenge
other people to win!

The 6 different stachues are the king,
queen, pawns, rook, knight and
bishop.

The queen is the most power
full player on the board unlike
the king he can move everywhere
but only one space. Some
people take pawns for
granted but they can
come in good defence for the king.
Horses can move in an L shape and
good at dodging your opponent.
The rook can move anywhere diagonal
and good getting the other players
people. The bishop can move
anywhere up, down, left and right.

There are two modes one is you
have to get your opponent's king
and the other is last man standing
is when you have to get all of your
opponent's players.
